God became Man to show the way of life to mankind, to love and serve without any reward. He taught humility, showing true greatness.
Forgiveness of sin and continuous flow of grace/sanctification were also revealed through this. God desires true love for Him and others and not ritualistic demonstrations.
We are to believe in the heart and express it through our words and deeds as witnesses to others!
