Matthew 5 : 3
““Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
The Greek word ‘makarios’ or blessed is a state of complete and continuous joy and satisfaction. This is heavenly bliss.
One who recognizes his own inability to achieve and turns to the Lord fully is thus blessed. Their reward is eternal peace here on earth.
It is a permanent attitude of dependence on God to be thus blessed!
