“Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord will fulfill His promises to her.”
Elizabeth had perceived, through the Holy Spirit, the presence of the Messiah in Mary’s womb and she called Mary blessed for her faith in the fulfilment of the Word of God conveyed to her.
Her attitude toward God was marked not by envy, but by joy for Mary at the visit of the mother of the Son of God. A sure cure for jealousy is to praise God for the blessings given to others more than for those given to ourselves.
God chooses everyone for a specific purpose, and we must submit to His will!
