MARK 15 : 5
“But Jesus still answered nothing, and Pilate was amazed.”
Lord Jesus was deliberately silent, in submission to the Father’s plan of redemption of mankind. He displayed exemplary strength in not defending Himself.
The noise of fear seen in the false accusations of the chief priests and Jewish leaders in contrast to the peace of the Saviour, surprised Pilate. Their efforts to extinguish the light failed, for He rules in the hearts of believers.
The Saviour was in control, fulfilling the prophecies of being the silent Suffering Servant!
