Proverbs 27 : 17
“As iron sharpens iron,
so one person sharpens another.“
As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. A man can be used to sharpen, develop and improve the personality of his friend but it may be through friction. The analogy implies that one must persevere in trying to help the friend through constructive criticism.
By godly communication walk together in mutual concern for each other’s trials and temptations. Countenance is like the personality or soul and such sharpening is to help in fulfilling the very purpose of one’s life.
