EXODUS 20 : 12
“Honour your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.”
Honour is about speaking well of the parents, showing respect, even if they have treated you badly. We can only disobey them to avoid living in violation of God’s Word.
When we live in this manner, God, our heavenly Father, gives us the decreed abundance. We not only receive but are also able to enjoy the goodness of everything.
Parents do not earn our respect, but God commands this, for how can we honour Him without respecting our parents!
